i love to read quotes.  quotes from famous people, infamous people and regular people.  quotes about family, life, work, kids and friends.  i love finding quotes that relate to my life and experience.  i have a favorite quote about friends - someone once gave me a card with this quote in it and i also recently ran across this quote in a book.  it’s about friends.

i’ve found that when you become a mom, you obviously don’t have as much free time as you used to. maybe you don’t see your friends as much, or don’t take as much me-time.  maybe you make friends with the parents of your kids’ friends - sometimes that works out, sometimes it doesn’t.   but, if you’re really lucky, you make friends with people that you connect with in some way.  maybe at first parenthood is the common denominator, but then you find other similarities and you are able to form real relationships.

i’m really excited to announce this upcoming event!  i am teaming up with a fabulous kids clothing boutique in andersonville - zozo for kids - and offering complimentary mini photo sessions ($75 value).  we ask that you wear current zozo for kids clothing for your session - which should be easy since all of the clothes are so great!  i wish i could wear them - i’m not kidding!!

sessions will be taking place at the store (5137 n. clark) on saturday, june 28th.  (if the chicago weather doesn’t cooperate, a rain date will be chosen.)

each complimentary session will be 20 minutes in length - you only pay for the prints that you would like to order.  a special print package will be available for this event - (3) 5×7’s of the same image for $65.00.  for a complete list of print prices, please see my website.

on sunday i had an outdoor session with a great family - we did it just in time!  just in time for what?  on my way home it started pouring!!!  while i have a feeling the little guy would have liked to play in the rain, the rest of us wouldn’t have enjoyed it nearly as much! 

These kids were fantastic!  now, I have nothing against princesses or people that like princesses, but i was never a princess kind of girl.  so, when i find someone else that isn’t a princess kind of girl i feel a kinship.  miss j is not a princess kind of girl!  we connected right off the bat - or maybe it was my camera that she liked! 

i have a soft spot for two year old boys, since i have one of my own.  they are daredevils, sometimes rebels, always curious!  mr. j was no exception!  but he was also very sweet and didn’t seem to mind me, at least for awhile!

Fun weekend ahead - shopping, photography, etc! May 2, 2008

This weekend I am going to be at ZOZO FOR KIDS (a children’s clothing boutique in Andersonville) helping them celebrate their Grand Opening and 3rd Birthday!  I will be displaying images and taking photos of the two-day event.  Select photos will appear on my blog, website and Zozo’s neighborhood wall.  There will also be sales and snacks for kids and adults!  Another great store down the street Green Genes (an eco-friendly boutique that has things for kids and adults) will also be celebrating their grand opening with live music!  So come check out Andersonville this weekend!

Blogging is fun! April 30, 2008

This is my first official blog - ever - anywhere! I was never one to keep a diary - I’d start out OK, but could never keep it up. But this will be different - because #1 I’m always on my computer so it’ll be easy to remember to blog and #2 I don’t typically hide my computer (like I did diaries and then proceed to forget where I hid them!)

I hope to use this blog as a way to post “sneak peek” images for clients immediately following sessions. Also, I’d like to post some of my favorite things and websites.
