good things on the way . . .

i am so lucky that i get to work with such great families on a daily basis!  and talk about getting your baby fix – the squishiness of a newborn, the little toes, hands and lips, and don’t even get me started on the smell of a newborn!! it never gets old and i never tire of it!!  especially when they are as sweet as this baby girl – smiling throughout her session!

how do you measure a year in the life?


you’ve heard that line before – it comes from a song in the broadway show “rent”.  i’ve always loved that song and i was reminded of it the other day when i had two shoots in one day.  the first was of a one day old baby boy still in the hospital.  the second was of a one year old celebrating her first birthday.  what a privilege it was for me to be asked to come to these very important life events for these two families.  it got me thinking not only about this

while waiting for my drink at my local starbucks the other day i noticed this mom in line holding her baby, he looked to be about 8-9 months old.  as i was watching her i noticed that she could not stop kissing him, smelling him, touching him.  i remember that feeling.  the feeling of just not being able to get enough of your child.  i still have that feeling, although my 10 and 7 year olds don’t really appreciate it when i’m constantly kissing them and sniffing them – and
