Love and connection – Family Photography Chicago

familyphotography

I’m always thrilled when a family chooses me to photograph them! When I spend a couple of hours with a family, I feel like I really get to know them and see how their family works and loves each other. So when a family comes back to me year after year – I feel really honored! I’ve had so many repeat clients this summer and for that I am always grateful. Knowing that the images that I am capturing for these families will become a part of their family story is a great privilege

Summer in the Park – Family Photography Chicago

familyphotoschicago

Outdoor sessions are in full swing! This is the time when Chicago can show off all the beautiful parks and green spaces – in addition to the miles and miles of lakefront. When a family chooses to have their photo session outside,  I have several parks throughout the city that are my “go-to” parks. Much of where we go has to do with where the family lives – I try to make it easier for them to get there. This is one of my favorite places – Winnemac Park. It never disappoints

Best friends and other things – Chicago child photographer

sibling photography

When I was a new mom and my boys were much younger, I met a mom who’s boys were older than mine but about the same difference in age as my boys. I noticed her boys playing in the park together. They were laughing, playing tag and getting on like the best of pals. Her and I struck up a conversation and I asked her about the age difference ( 2 1/2 years) and if her boys always got along so well. Her reply was perfect and is seared into my memory. “They’re best friends and mortal

Goodbye Chicago! – Chicago Family Photographer

familyphotography

I loved everything about this session except for the fact that this awesome family was saying goodbye to Chicago! We had so much fun at their session and our city gave us such a great day (although it did live it up to it’s name – Windy! and yes, I know, I know, Chicago is not called the Windy City because of the actual wind!)

This family is onto their next adventure in another great American city, but I’m so happy that they will have the photos of their beautiful, happy family

Labor day weekend and double digits! – Chicago Children’s photographer

babyphotography

Every year at this time I’m brought back to my own “labor day”.  Ten years ago this weekend, my youngest son was born – which means he will be double digits this year, baby! I can hardly believe it. How can this be happening?

Whenever one of my boys’ birthday comes around I always try and take a moment out of the day and think about the actual day they were born. I think about the events of the day. How I felt. How things progressed. Things we said. The timeline of
