grandma and grandpa love


extended family sessions are a definite favorite of mine – i love to see the interaction, the fun, and the sometimes chaos . . . but most of all i love the interaction between grandparents and grandchildren.  maybe it’s because i was fortunate enough to have a very close relationship with all of my grandparents that i really value that special connection.  although i’ve only been on one side of that relationship i’d describe it as pure joy.  i now see it with my own

happy family


i’ve said this before – but i love taking photos of kids with their parents.  so when parents are willing to get in the photos – even if they aren’t planning on it – it’s always fun! and sometimes funny!  i always tell parents that i’m not taking these photos for them, but for the kids.  i love looking at photos of me and my parents from way, way, way back when i was little.  and most kids are the same way.  even better – grandparents!!!

how forty is done


forty years of marriage, that is.  i had the privilege of photographing this couple as they celebrated their *fortieth* wedding anniversary!  they were surrounded by their children and grandchildren – it couldn’t have been more perfect.

wide awake and ready for her close-up!


finally – i’m back to the blog!! i know, it’s been a long while.  what a way to come back – i just love newborns!  so tiny, so sweet.

this was a great session and i felt so lucky to be able to capture these moments for this family.  i’ve said before that to me – the grandparent/grandchild relationship is such a special one.  now, obviously, i don’t have any grandchildren – but i’ve had very special relationships with grandparents and i treasure
