Catch me if you can! – Chicago Children’s Photographer

childphotography

We had so much fun at the park – doing what kids do – running, checking out paths in the garden, and running some more!

Sessions outdoors at this time of year are always a good idea. We know lots of good parks in the city and some suburbs! There are still a few remaining weekends before the holiday season – so call/email to book your session now.

What a day with Gigi’s Playhouse! – Chicago Portrait Photographer

Gigisblog

In honor of World Down Syndrome Day, I’m posting images from the day I had a few weeks ago with some of the amazing people at Gigi’s Playhouse in Chicago.

In 2013, Gigi’s approached me to take the photographs that currently (but not much longer!) appear on their windows. Recently we collaborated once again to update the windows since Gigi’s expanded and have even more windows to cover with beautiful faces! Below are just some of the photos that were taken that day &#8211

Best friends and other things – Chicago child photographer

sibling photography

When I was a new mom and my boys were much younger, I met a mom who’s boys were older than mine but about the same difference in age as my boys. I noticed her boys playing in the park together. They were laughing, playing tag and getting on like the best of pals. Her and I struck up a conversation and I asked her about the age difference ( 2 1/2 years) and if her boys always got along so well. Her reply was perfect and is seared into my memory. “They’re best friends and mortal

A new photo project!! – Chicago Tween Photographer

tweenphotography

I have been working on this project and I am so excited to finally show some images and talk about it!!! Do you remember what it was like to be 11 or 12? Kind of awkward, right? It was for me, anyway. And when I look at the (very) few photos that exist of me at that age – well, that’s just it, there are very few. Why is that? Why do the tween ages so often get forgotten? On one hand I get it, newborns are so tiny and well, new! Of course you want to take photos all day long! And babies

It happens every year. The holidays sneak up on me. And I really don’t know how it happens since I start thinking about the holidays in August! Literally. Anyway, my favorite holiday (Thanksgiving) will soon be here and I’m looking forward to the time spent with family, friends and food. But right now, I’m thankful for clients who keep coming back to me! Like this little guy and his family! I love seeing how kids have changed over the course of a year – it’s so much

all fun, all the time – chicago family photographer

babyphotography

The question I always ask families or anyone I’m about to photograph is what they’d like to capture in the images, what is their vision for the session? I’d say that one of the most common answers for families is that they are looking to capture the personality of their family, “candid” moments, they don’t want to looked too posed, etc. I love these kind of answers!! To me, this means that this person has clearly looked at my website or my blog and has
