Client-share Monday! – Baby Photography Chicago

babyphotography

I love Mondays. For so many reasons. I’m not going to lie, part of it has to do with everyone else in my house going off to work or school (or camp in the summer). I love the quiet and the calm – even if it’s just for an hour or two while my day gets started. But I also love Mondays because that is the day that I share images from a recent client session. I’m trying something new with my blog – Mondays will be a client share, Wednesdays will be a how-to, and Fridays

Complete connection – Chicago Newborn Photographer

newbornphotography

It’s always a privilege to photograph a family – whether it’s to capture a milestone or a new baby or yearly photos. For the time I spend with that family, I feel a part of it. I feel connected. I’m getting a peek into their lives, their interaction, love and connection. And that’s what I want the images to show.

I have a questionnaire that I send out to clients before our session and one of the questions I ask is “What do you want your children to see in these

Unsolicited Advice – Chicago Newborn Photographer

newbornphotography

I’ve been going through lots of our photos lately in preparation for my oldest son’s 8th grade graduation. Gasp!! It’s a tradition in our school to do a short photo montage of each student at the 8th grade dinner/dance (parents at my school if you’re reading this – get your photos in ASAP!!) Going through these photos makes me wonder how this now 5’7″ 14 year old was ever an itty bitty baby like the one below – how did this happen? Didn’t I

My baby’s keeper – Chicago Newborn Photographer

newbornphotography

When someone cares for your babies, they often become part of your family. At least that’s been my experience. So when the nanny babysitter person who makes my life easier and loves my kids told me that she was expecting a baby I knew that I just had to take photos of that little peanut when he arrived! It was really cool to see her with her own little person – she is so nurturing and loving with other people’s babies and now she can do that for her own.

Now it’s time for the real photo session in the studio, and I can’t wait!! I mean seriously, could this family be anymore gorgeous? Mom is just stunning and Dad hasn’t stopped smiling

Newborn love – Chicago Newborn Photographer

When the sweetest little newborn comes in with the most adorable brothers and sister AND a gorgeous mom who is seriously so sweet, well, let’s just say it makes me love what I do even more. If that’s even possible. I can’t wait to see them all again!!

Such a treat! – Chicago Newborn Photographer

newbornphotography

I hope everyone had a great Halloween, despite the less-than-ideal Chicago weather! Although, if someone is giving my kids free candy, they don’t really care what the weather is like – it could be snowing, sleeting, raining, whatever. I can always count on my youngest guy staying out for the full 3 hours getting as much candy as he possibly can!

Anyway, these twins were such a treat to have in the studio!!! Just look how sweet they are! I hope they are this sweet to each other their

hello summer – goodbye summer!! – Chicago newborn photographer

newbornphotography

Summer has gone by in a whirlwhind of travel (more on that later!), family, friends, new clients, and repeat clients. And before I knew it my boys were back at school. The heat wave that Chicago was enjoying (OK, maybe I was the only one enjoying it) was over and the temperature came crashing down to 63 degrees yesterday morning as well as I dropped my guys off for 7th grade and 4th grade.

It feels like summer is offically over. At least in my house.

Anyone who knows me knows how incredibly sad
