Time Marching On – Chicago Child Photographer

childphotography

Year after year I have clients that come back to me, which is not only such a compliment but also such a joy because I get to see them again and see how they’ve grown and changed over the year. This is one of those clients – you may recognize his sweet little face. I love seeing it every year and seeing what new funny thing he’s doing and saying. He never disappoints!!

Goodbye Chicago! – Chicago Family Photographer

familyphotography

I loved everything about this session except for the fact that this awesome family was saying goodbye to Chicago! We had so much fun at their session and our city gave us such a great day (although it did live it up to it’s name – Windy! and yes, I know, I know, Chicago is not called the Windy City because of the actual wind!)

This family is onto their next adventure in another great American city, but I’m so happy that they will have the photos of their beautiful, happy family

City or suburbs? – Chicago family photographer

familyphotography

I love seeing clients that have been coming back to me year after year, kid after kid, new town after new town. When clients move from the city to the suburbs (as some do!) I’ll often get the panicked question – “do you come to the suburbs?!!?”  I assure them, yes! I do!! While I’m a city girl at heart, I love to get out of the city and explore the amazing parks that so many suburbs have to offer. So, if you are living in a suburb and have been wondering about a

I think I may just add someone a little more local to my list. Enter – Chris Bell – owner of the store Flatts

rock on!!!!

eddie

the 2014 grammys are upon us!  as a music lover, i’m always interested to see which bands win awards, although most of my favorite bands tend not to be in the mainstream.

it is a little known fact that i used to shoot bands.  for those that know me, as you can imagine, this was a dream come true.  i love music, i love live music.  so to combine my love of music with my love of photography was amazing!!!  as the baby/family side of my business became busier and as my children started

joy.

collage

one of my dearest friends often says “choose joy”  when faced with life’s dramas and chaos.  when i hear her say it, or text it or facebook it, i always think about not only choosing joy, but also looking for it in my daily life.  i look for it in myself, my kids, friends and often people i don’t know.  kids playing in a park, kids getting picked up at school that are so excited to see the person picking them up, people greeting others at airports, and most often i

how do you measure a year in the life?

Camden

you’ve heard that line before – it comes from a song in the broadway show “rent”.  i’ve always loved that song and i was reminded of it the other day when i had two shoots in one day.  the first was of a one day old baby boy still in the hospital.  the second was of a one year old celebrating her first birthday.  what a privilege it was for me to be asked to come to these very important life events for these two families.  it got me thinking not only about this
